Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks Adapted from https://www.simplyairfryer.com/air-fryer-chicken-drumsticks/ Servings: 6 chicken drumsticks INGREDIENTS 6 chicken drumsticks 2 teaspoons avocado oil 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional STEPS 1) If the chicken drumsticks are wet, place the legs on a plate and pat them dry with a paper towel. If they don’t have too much excess moisture, there is no need to dry them first. 2) Place the drumsticks in a medium-sized mixing bowl and add in the oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (optional). Toss until the chicken drumsticks are evenly coated in the oil and spices. 3) Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. 4) Once heated to temperature, place the chicken drumsticks in the air fryer tray. They should be in a single layer on the tray to make sure that they cook evenly and air fry to a nice crisp. If your air fryer is too small to accommodate this amount of drumsticks, cook them in two batches. 5) Cook the chicken for a total of 20-22 minutes. Flip the drumsticks over after about 10 minutes. Since every air fryer is different (and the drumsticks might be slightly different sizes), your total cooking time may vary. 6) Once the chicken drumsticks are cooked through and crispy on the outside, remove them from the tray. Serve them with a side like rice, fried potatoes, or French fries. NOTES Since you’re cooking chicken, make sure that it is fully cooked before taking it out of the air fryer. If you have an instant-read meat thermometer you can also use that – the internal temperature for chicken should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
